Still Top Quality
Comment:I had an IR 231 years ago and the Snap-On man talked me into trading it in on one of their models. It was good, but I finally had to get another 231. The difference is very noticeable. The first time I used my 231 it was like my old friend was back. Power and dependability - that's the 231.

Comment:This is my first impact wrench. I guess the biggest reason I picked this one is that you can buy parts for it. In this day and age, most things are like light bulbs - when they burn out, you just get a new one. If parts can be purchased, it must be durable. The price on this site was great.

Just simply can't be beat
Comment:I purchased my 231C in 1972 from my Snap-On rep who told me it was much better than his Snap-On model. This poor gun has been through the wars. Until 3 days ago, I have NEVER done anything to this gun but use an oiler with it. Not one single repair or adjustment. Finally, the trigger will not shut off the gun completely. My local IR Authorized repair facility said I could buy just the trigger parts, but I elected to go for the whole maintenance kit. Grand total - $30 + tax!! That's after 41 years of faithful service. I am buying a new one, too. After I rebuild this old one, I think I am going to give it a bit of a rest.
