After using the instrument for a few weeks now I have found it to be very useful and reliable. The scan feature is also great to identify hot and cold spots on walls ceilings and roofs etc. Whilst the unit comes with battery and charger for stand alone operation the fact that it uses a 12V Max battery is also a great feature if you have already bought into the 12V Max system making the package even better value for money.

P.S.The DCT414 is also great for quick temperature testing on aquariums and also checking the water temperature when changing/adding water its way less messy and faster then immersion thermometers.
